Welcome to The Mackarness Place​

​This site was set up to give relatives, and others who are interested, access to Peter and Torla Mackarness’  collection of family photos and other archive material. It is a work in progress, with more to be added. 

Many photos and documents relate to the family of Charles and Grace Mackarness of Scarborough (above),  the families of their son Cuthbert and grandson Peter - but you'll also find material relating to earlier ancestors, as well as the  Booker, Carder, Coleridge, Everett, Foster, Godfrey, Goodman, Hartley, Hughes, May, Milford, Pattisson, Smithson, Tidman and Wedd  families. The Mackarness Place was designed by Peter Mackarness' grandson Ben, and is managed by Peter's  daughter Patience.
